Mobile homes are homes built in factories, rather than
onsite, and then delivered to their eventual location of
occupancy. They are less expensive per square foot than
traditional site built houses and are often associated with
rural areas and high-density developments, sometimes referred to
as trailer parks. Find used mobile homes for sale by owner by

Although similar, a "manufactured
home" specifically refers to a home built entirely in a
protected environment under a federal code set by HUD. Contrary
to popular belief, manufactured homes are not mobile homes. The
word "mobile home" describes factory-built real estate
homes built prior to the 1976 HUD Code enactment. |
